Corinne Foxx took to Instagram on Tuesday with a beautiful message of support for her dad, Jamie Foxx, whose new stand-up comedy special, “What Had Happened Was…” is now streaming on Netflix.
It’s the legendary comedian and Oscar-winning actor’s first stand-up special since he experience a medical emergency while filming the Netflix action comedy Back in Action, which left him hospitalized and in recovery for several months.
Corinne took to Instagram writing:
I couldn’t be more proud of you @iamjamiefoxx You created light from darkness. You turned tragedy into comedy. You shared your truth, your story in the most beautiful and honest way.
I will never forget those months of uncertainty and recovery. You were resilient, brave, strong… and funny. Even on the hard days, even when you didn’t remember it, you were always funny. It’s just who you are.
The second photo is with the surgeon who saved your life. He can attest… you were the funniest patient he’s ever had. Oh World, you are in for a treat. You get to see the brilliant man who raised me shine in his truth.
