🥊 Claressa Shields Cleared Of Marijuana Suspension

Claressa Shields is officially back in action!

The Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission has lifted her suspension following an investigation that found no imminent threat to the integrity of the sport.

Just over a month ago, Claressa was sidelined from competing in Michigan after testing positive for marijuana.

However, a recent court order ruled that the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau no longer sees her as a threat to public interest, contestant safety, or the sport itself.

Claressa Shields has always denied using marijuana and provided evidence during a compliance conference to clear her name.

According to the ruling, her suspension was officially dissolved on March 14.

Claressa had tested positive for marijuana after an oral fluid sample was taken following her February 2 bout against Danielle Perkins.

But her promoter, Dmitriy Salita, remained confident that she would be cleared—and he was right.

🎤 Claressa Shields Claps Back At Critics

Claressa Shields took to Instagram Live to address the situation in her signature unfiltered style, calling out those who spread misinformation about her:

“Was I around somebody that’s smoking? Yeah, I was. The Dork Federal. Everybody was in there smoking. But do I need some damn weed? No, I don’t! I never smoke weed!”

The boxing champ explained that her oral swab was mishandled before being tested and pointed out procedural errors in her case.

Claressa demanded an apology from those who falsely accused her:

“For everybody who shared that I was smoking weed and put that weed s**t on my name—you owe me an apology.”

🔥 Shields Sounds Off On Light-Skinned Women Who Criticize Her

In true Claressa Shields fashion, she didn’t stop at clearing her name.

The multi-division world champion also had words for the light-skinned women who, according to her, always seem to have an issue with her.

“It’s always the light-skinned girls who think they just so pretty and just because they born light-skinned that they just all that.”

Claressa doubled down, calling out women who criticize her appearance:

“They say, ‘Oh, she thinks she’s so pretty, but she got a strong jawline.’ Baby, do you see this face? What’s wrong with you?”

Despite her frustrations, she clarified that she doesn’t have an issue with all light-skinned women, saying she loves those who show her genuine support.

However, she believes some women are threatened by her confidence and self-esteem.

“Some of these Latina girls be having self-esteem problems. And the fact that my self-esteem is up here, and theirs is down here, they come fing with me.”
