Chuck D and Flavor Flav’s relationship has been strained since Flavor Flav sued Chuck and P.E. producers in 2017, claiming they’ve cut him off from royalties, merchandising revenue, and performance fees.

In a tweeted response, Chuck said he believed Flav was influenced by his management to link him into the lawsuit.

In another tweet, Chuck stated that he’s always willing to try to work things out with Flav, but Flav needs to make sure he shows up for work.

In March 2020, Chuck announced Flav was fired from the group after an argument about P.E.’s appearance at a Bernie Sanders rally.

Flav sent a cease and desist letter to Bernie’s campaign, claiming they used his image and likeness for a show Chuck D agreed to put on in support of Bernie.

In the recent video, at the groundbreaking of the Universal Hip Hop Museum, Chuck implied that Flav doesn’t even know who Bernie Sanders is.

Hopefully, Chuck and Flav can reconcile their differences because it will be great to hear them on some tracks giving their perspective on the police brutality and the systemic racism that’s plaguing the black community right now.
