The Phoenix Suns have agreed to acquire Chris Paul in a trade deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will receive Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre Jr., Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2021 first-round pick, and the Phoenix Suns will acquire Chris Paul and Abdel Nader.

The Oklahoma City Thunder appear to be clearing house because they also traded shooting guard Dennis Schroder to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Phoenix Suns shocked the world by going 8-0 in the NBA Bubble before the start of the playoffs, despite going undefeated in the bubble they failed to make the playoffs because their regular season record was not good enough for them to secure the 8th spot in the Western Conference.

Chris Paul is excited about reuniting with coach Monty Williams who coached him for one season (2010-2011) in New Orleans.

His basketball mind… I used to get so excited before games about the plays he was drawing up.

After suffering numerous injuries over the past few years, Chris Paul led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the 2020 NBA Bubble Playoffs, while only missing one game during the regular season to mourn his friend Kobe Bryant’s death.

The Oklahoma City Thunder was eliminated in the first round by the Los Angeles Clippers, but Chris Paul’s impact was felt during the series.

Chris Paul averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assist, and 5.0 rebounds last season, and he led the league in clutch-time scoring.

The Phoenix Suns hope that Chris Paul’s play this past season has some carryover in Phoenix, and he uses his leadership skills to rally their young talent the way he did in Oklahoma City.

Do you think Chris Paul will be a good fit with the Phoenix Suns.
