In one of the illest NBA departures ever, Carmelo Anthony took to social media with Ghostface’s “All I Got Is You” playing in the background to announce his retirement from the NBA and his passing of the torch to his son Kiyan Carmelo Anthony.
In the video, Carmelo speaks, over highlight clips of his career, about what the game has meant to him and the basketball journey he has been on over the years.
When it comes to his legacy, he makes it clear that he is passing on the torch to his son Kiyan.
My legacy, my son, it’s in you.
I will forever continue through you.
Because the time has come for you to carry this torch.
So Kiy, chase your dreams.
Let nothing hold you back.
Let nothing intervene.
My legacy… Now and forever… lives on through you.
And I will always be proud of all that you do.
Peace!
