Carmelo Anthony Retires From The NBA & Passes The Torch To His Son Kiyan
Instagram

In one of the illest NBA departures ever, Carmelo Anthony took to social media with Ghostface’s “All I Got Is You” playing in the background to announce his retirement from the NBA and his passing of the torch to his son Kiyan Carmelo Anthony.

In the video, Carmelo speaks, over highlight clips of his career, about what the game has meant to him and the basketball journey he has been on over the years.

When it comes to his legacy, he makes it clear that he is passing on the torch to his son Kiyan.

My legacy, my son, it’s in you.

I will forever continue through you.

Because the time has come for you to carry this torch.

So Kiy, chase your dreams.

Let nothing hold you back.

Let nothing intervene.

My legacy… Now and forever… lives on through you.

And I will always be proud of all that you do.

Peace!

Kiyan Carmelo Anthony is currently a sophomore at Long Island Lutheran High School in New York and he’s ranked the 62nd-best player in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports.

At the age of 16, Kiyan holds college offers from Bryant, George Mason, Memphis, and Syracuse University, where Carmelo Anthony won an NCAA National Championship as a freshman on April 7, 2003.

You may recall this past December 2022, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony were two proud papas as their sons played against each other.

Natalia Bryant, Kim Kardashian, and North West came out to show their support for Kiyan, Bryce, and Bronny James.

See the photos below.

Congratulations to one of the NBA’s best and future Hall of Famer, Carmelo Anthony, and we wish all the best to the new torch carrier, Kiyan, as he navigates his basketball journey.
