Cardi B recently revealed a harrowing experience during her pregnancy that nearly led to a miscarriage.
In an emotional and candid conversation with her followers on X Spaces, the rapper, who is expecting her third child with estranged husband Offset, recounted a “freak accident” that left her temporarily paralyzed and deeply concerned for her unborn child’s safety.
“I had a f–king freak accident,” Cardi B shared, struggling to find the right words to describe the frightening ordeal.
“That’s how I have to explain it because I don’t know how something — well, it wasn’t little, I actually heard it.”
The 31-year-old Grammy Award-winning rapper explained that what happened to her was extremely rare, which made the situation even more shocking when it escalated.
She vividly described how she was “literally paralyzed” for a time, unable to move, and consumed with fear over the potential impact on her pregnancy.
“And that little thing almost cost me my little one to come, but it didn’t,” she said, her voice tinged with relief.
Despite the terrifying incident, Cardi expressed gratitude that her baby remained safe.
Cardi B went on to describe the moments following the accident, where she returned home from the hospital still feeling the effects of strong pain medication.
“Yesterday I was feeling good ’cause I came home, but I came home high as a kite. Today I woke up sober, honey. I’m dying. Like, I’m dying. I swear to God. If I don’t feel good in four hours, I’m going to the hospital, and I don’t give a f–k.”
The rapper, who is also the mother of daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2, admitted that she wasn’t afraid to “exaggerate” her pain to get more relief.
“Morphine me down. I don’t give a damn!” she joked, though she quickly acknowledged the serious side of her experience, adding, “This is probably why b**ches be getting addicted to drugs and s**t.”
On Thursday, Cardi B returned to Spaces and revealed more details about the accident that nearly cost her baby’s life.
She said slipped while going down the stairs and “kind of busted [her] a**,” which led to a “pop” sound that left her unable to move and in excruciating pain.
Despite trying to sleep off the injury, the pain only worsened, leading her to seek medical attention.
At the hospital, doctors discovered that Cardi B had torn a ligament in her pelvis and was experiencing contractions every two minutes for a full 24 hours.
Fortunately, after receiving treatment, she was sent home on bed rest and began physical therapy to aid in her recovery.
