The O.J. Simpson saga continues to captivate the public decades after the infamous 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Despite his acquittal, speculation about Simpson’s guilt has persisted.

Now, a surprising twist brings the case back into the spotlight.

On Tuesday, WCCO reported that the Los Angeles Police Department had pursued a potential lead stemming from Bloomington, Minnesota.

The connection? Iroc Avelli, a man claiming to be Simpson’s former bodyguard, was arrested for assault in Bloomington in 2022.

During that arrest, Bloomington police seized a backpack containing thumb drives.

This summer, Avelli and his attorney reportedly claimed the drives held a bombshell—a recording of O.J. Simpson confessing to the murders.

In court, Avelli’s attorney described the contents as “very sensitive, delicate information which shouldn’t be in the public, period.”

However, after a thorough forensic investigation, Bloomington police found no evidence of value on the thumb drives.

Avelli was subsequently deemed not competent to stand trial for the assault charge.

O.J. Simpson passed away in April at age 76, and no one has ever been convicted for the brutal killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
