Netflix has renewed Kenya Barris‘ controversial comedy series, “#blackAF,” for a second season.

The renewal comes days after the news broke about Barris and Pharrell Williams teaming up to make a Juneteenth musical for the popular streamer.

“#blackAF” is a docu-series styled comedy based on Kenya Barris’ family. Think “Black-ish” on Molly.

While some found the show enjoyable and hilarious, others criticized the show saying there is nothing “black” about it at all.

Kenya took to social media after the show was renewed and wrote:

#blackAF SEASON 2!!!! Thank you to #Netflix and to all the AMAZING FANS who supported, championed and believed in us… we LOVE YOU GUYS WITH ALL OUR HEART!!! And to all tne #HATERS thank you too. Your opinions mean a lot to me and they are also appreciated… I’m just kidding F**K Y’ALL!!! WE BACK B**CHES!!! #blackAF #youmad#netflixisajoke #SEASON2
