Bishop T.D. Jakes took to social media on Wednesday to provide an update following his recent medical emergency during Sunday service.

In a video posted to his Instagram, Bishop Jakes became emotional as he expressed his deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support he’s received.

In the caption, Bishop T.D. Jakes wrote:

Serving God’s people is an extraordinary privilege, and Sunday was no exception. I gave my all in delivering the message God placed on my heart. Even when I sensed the weight of my humanity and pushed through, I’m reminded that even the strongest must rely on His strength.

I thank the Lord that I did not suffer a stroke; however, the event could have been fatal if not for God’s intervention. A special thank you to God and the medical professionals in our city for their swift and exceptional care.

My job now is to rest and reflect on God’s protection. I owe it to my amazing family and church members to take time for recuperation as He restores me for His service. As God calls us to honor the Sabbath, I’m reminded that rest is not a weakness – it is a divine gift.

While I continue to be strengthened by His grace, I am in awe of my family and the incredible leadership team around me. Together, we press forward, steadfast in the work the Lord has set before us.

I’ve heard from friends around the world who’ve expressed God’s love in remarkable ways. His faithfulness was unmistakable to all who were present.

I’m forever humbled by your outpouring of love and support. I will always give my best. May His presence continue to guide and sustain you, providing peace and protection over you all.
