Voletta Wallace, the mother of the Notorious B.I.G., expressed her deep disturbance over a resurfaced video showing Sean “Diddy” Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, back in 2016.
This shocking revelation, coupled with the mounting sexual abuse allegations against Diddy, has left Ms. Wallace feeling “sick to her stomach.”
In a candid interview published on May 30 by Rolling Stone, Wallace didn’t hold back her feelings.
“I’m praying for Cassie,” she shared. “I’m praying for his mother. I don’t want to believe the things that I’ve heard, but I’ve seen [the video]. I pray that he apologizes to her. I hope that I see Sean one day and the only thing I want to do is slap the daylights out of him.”
Quote of the Day: A Mother’s Anguish
Voletta Wallace’s pain was palpable as she continued, “And you can quote me on that,” she insisted. “Because I liked him. I didn’t want to believe all the awful things, but I’m so ashamed and embarrassed.”
But her outrage didn’t end there.
Ms/ Wallace emphasized the need for Diddy to make amends not just with Cassie but with his own family.
“He needs to apologize to his mother,” she told the publication. “I hope to God he sits her down and spills his guts and apologizes to her.”
A Wave of Accusations
Ms. Wallace’s fiery comments came in the wake of a damning investigative piece by Rolling Stone, which featured several of Diddy’s accusers speaking out for the first time.
The Bad Boy Records founder is currently entangled in multiple lawsuits, the latest being filed on May 21 by former model Crystal McKinney, who has accused him of sexual assault.
Diddy has vehemently denied all allegations.
Caught on Camera
The controversy reached a boiling point when CNN released the hotel footage showing Diddy hitting, kicking, and shoving Cassie during a 2016 hotel stay.
The video, which has been widely circulated, prompted a wave of public outcry and led Diddy to address the incident head-on in an Instagram apology video.
Diddy’s Apology: A Public Reckoning
“I was f—ed up,” Diddy admitted in the self-filmed clip. “I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”
As the fallout continues, Voletta Wallace’s comments echo the sentiments of many who once admired the music mogul.
