A$AP Rocky was officially charged on Monday for allegedly firing a handgun toward a former friend in Hollywood last November.

We previously reported, that the rapper, whose real name Rakim Mayers, was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday, April 20 in connection to the November 2021 shooting.

According to LAPD, the shooting took place on November 6 after an argument between two acquaintances in the area of Selma and Argyle avenues in Hollywood.

The argument escalated and resulted in A$AP allegedly firing a handgun twice at the victim, who sustained a minor injury to his left hand.

We now know that the victim in the shooting is Terell Ephron, better known as A$AP Relli.

Relli, who works as a producer and talent manager, has filed a civil suit for assault, battery, and emotional distress against his high school best friend.

According to a statement announcing the lawsuit, A$AP Rocky lured A$AP Relli into an obscure location in Hollywood “to discuss a disagreement between the two of them.”

“Unbeknownst to Mr. Ephron, A$AP Rocky was not just planning for a conversation and came armed with a semi-automatic handgun,” the statement alleges. “After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron.”

Relli’s attorneys Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz also say their client has suffered “multiple death threats and irreparable harm to his career in the entertainment industry as a result of this incident.”

A$AP Rocky has officially been charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday (August 17).

The 33-year-old rapper welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, Rihanna, on May 13.
