Fox cancels 9-1-1 ABC picks up series for Season 7

Fox opted out of renewing the hit first responder drama series, “9-1-1,” from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear.

The upcoming Season 6 finale will air on May 15.

But, it’s not over.

ABC has picked up the series starring Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, and Oliver Stark for Season 7!

9-1-1” will join the Disney network’s lineup next season making this one of the highest-profile moves for a series ever.

Fox attempted to keep it cute and released the following statement:

It has been an honor to be the founding network of ‘9-1-1’ and we are grateful to Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, together with Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman and the rest of the cast and crew, and 20th Television for delivering such an impactful series to Fox.

We wish them well after 9-1-1’s final Fox season concludes.

No need for goodbyes and well wishes.…

Fox tried to leave the series for dead and ABC pulled up with the defibrillator. Won’t he do it?!

Congrats to the cast and crew of “9-1-1” on a Season 7 renewal and a new home!
