Frens, if you are looking for something great to watch, let me put you on to “American Primeval” on Netflix.
About ‘American Primeval’
Now, I’m not a huge fan of period pieces because I prefer not to live in the past, but “American Primeval” is TV gold!
So let me give you the scoop!
It is a limited series set in the wild and untamed Utah Territory in 1857, where the United States Army, the Mormon Militia, Native Americans, and pioneers are locked in a brutal war.
It’s survival of the fittest on every level.
Betty Gilpin stars as Sara Rowell, who is desperately seeking a guide to help her and her son, Devin, navigate the brutal and deadly lands to get to Crook Springs, where Devin’s father is.
But it doesn’t take long to learn that Sara isn’t giving the full details of her Carfax report.
When she gets jammed up, Isaac, aka Mr. Reed, enters the smoke signal!
Now, if you’re familiar with Taylor Kitsch, you already know he was going to deliver a performance that would have his jersey hanging in the rafters when the credits start rolling.
In “American Primeval,” Sara, Devin, Two Moons, and Mr. Reed go through the deepest depths of hell and high water trying to get to Crook Springs.
But please, allow me to give a shoutout to Two Moons! When Lil Wayne said, “Real Gs move in silence like lasagna,” this is who he was talking about!
What also makes this series a winner is that it has multiple subplots that are just as strong and enthralling.
Now, let me go ahead and issue my warnings and words of caution.
“American Primeval” is NOT for the weak or faint.
It is violent—bodies are dropping, and I’m talking men, women, and children.
It is gory—so if you can’t handle blood, sit this one out!
It is triggering—there is sexual violence.
Now, if you can pass the security check, all six episodes of “American Primeval” are now streaming on Netflix.

3 episodes in and I'm loving #AmericanPrimeval so far, but, damn, Sara is annoying.

That’s literally me after completing American Primeval 😭🤧 Why? Because I cared about five characters, and they killed off four of them by the end. #AmericanPrimeval #Netflix pic.twitter.com/XJw2NwRc42

American Primeval on Netflix with Taylor Kitsch and Betty Gilpin is awesome! It’s the best thing they both have ever done. It reminded me a lot of 1883 and The English. Journeying through Utah in the old west. One of the best series Netflix has made! #AmericanPrimeval pic.twitter.com/bsZVVJAMeM

We may only be nine days into the year, but episode one of #AmericanPrimeval delivers an all-timer of an action set piece. Brutal, ugly, chaotic. Peter Berg is a vastly underrated director.
