WNBA star Brittney Griner and her wife Cherelle Griner are expecting their first child together.
The couple, who tied the knot in June 2019, shared their baby news on Saturday (April 13) via Instagram with a photo of them holding hands next to an ultrasound of their child.
The caption on the post reads, “Can’t believe we’re less than three months away from meeting our favorite human being🤍 #BabyGrinerComingSoon #July2024”

Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner’s baby news comes 16 months after the WNBA star’s horrific experience of being detained in Russia on drug charges.

This will be the third child for Brittney Griner who welcomed twin girls with her ex-wife Glory Johnson in 2015.
You may recall that Glory and Brittney tied the knot on May 8, 2015, and Brittney filed to annul their marriage 28 days later after they were arrested for domestic violence.
Brittney called the marriage a “huge mistake.”
Ironically, Brittney Griner filed to end her marriage just one day after Glory Johnson announced she was pregnant.
The twins, Ava Simone and Solei Diem, were born at 24 weeks on October 12, 2015, and faced serious complications.
Brittney Griner argued she had no responsibility to the twins, but was ultimately ordered to pay child support for them.
It’s unclear if she has a relationship with twins at the time.
But, in a strange turn of events, Glory Johnson took to social media with a message of support for Brittney during her detainment in Russia.
Anywho, congrats to Brittney Griner and Cherelle on their forthcoming bundle of joy.
