Wendy Williams, the 60-year-old former host of “The Wendy Williams Show,” shocked fans and listeners when she called into The Breakfast Club on Thursday morning.

During the emotional interview, Williams and her niece, Alex Finnie, revealed distressing details about her current living situation.

Wendy’s candid remarks have ignited widespread concern, shedding light on her life under a court-ordered guardianship.

‘I Am Trapped,’ Says Wendy Williams

In the bombshell interview, Wendy Williams described her life in a New York facility as isolating and stifling.

Surrounded by elderly patients, she claimed she has no access to her phone or laptop and labeled her experience as “emotional abuse.”

“I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison,” Wendy said. “I am definitely isolated. To talk to these people who live here, that is not my cup of tea.”

Williams went on to detail her monotonous daily routine: “I keep the door closed. I watch TV. I listen to the radio. I watch the window. I sit here, and my life goes by.”

The former talk show host also revealed that her beloved cats have been taken away, leaving her heartbroken.

She expressed her desire to move to Miami and reunite with her family, particularly in time to celebrate her father’s 94th birthday next month.

Charlamagne Tha God Urges Support

The Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne Tha God called on listeners to amplify Wendy’s message on social media, describing the interview as the “fuse to light” her fight for freedom.

Wendy ended the conversation with her signature catchphrase, “How you doin’?”—a reminder of her indomitable spirit despite the challenges she faces.

A Troubling Timeline

Wendy Williams’ legal and health battles have kept her out of the spotlight in recent years.

After stepping away from her talk show in 2021, she was placed under guardianship in 2022 following diagnoses of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has described Wendy as “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated,” a claim Wendy vehemently denies.

Adding to the concern, Wendy made headlines last month during a rare public appearance at her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s graduation in Florida.

She was later caught on camera in a heated exchange with her caretakers after a celebratory dinner.

Kevin Hunter Jr. has also voiced his frustrations.

In a December 2024 Instagram post, he shared that his mother is “sober” and wants to “come home,” emphasizing that “isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”
