Tyrese took to social media on Valentine’s Day to announce he was dropped from his record label.

The singer and Fast X star shared a screenshot of the letter of termination from Caroline Records, a division of Universal Music Group.

On the image, Tyrese wrote, “My label just dropped me on the same day my mother passed! 💔”

You may recall, the “Sweet Lady” singer’s mother, Priscilla Murray Gibson, transitioned to her heavenly home on February 14, 2022.

In the caption on the post, Tyrese went down a laundry list of unfortunate events that occurred in his life on February 14 from death to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, filing for divorce.

He noted that he still doesn’t know why she filed for divorce from him.

I really thought I would be doing much better today all week I feel like I was preparing myself to mentally emotionally and psychologically get through this very tragic day for me and my family….

Today my mother transitioned of all days on Valentine’s Day last year 2022…. Same year my father died [REGGIE ANDREWS LOCKE SAINTS Father figure…

Just so happens to be the same day that I got married to Samantha….

Still to this day I have no clue as to why she filed for divorce..

Just so happened to be the same day that I just got dropped from my label….

Imagine that?

I’m all over the place, we’re supposed to take my daughter to school this morning I couldn’t even get out of bed…

Then I just got this message from Uncle Craig Davis

Son its Uncle Craig,

I’m very worried about you. You were on my heart, especially when you said Valentine’s Day for you today will feel like a funeral.

It may not matter, but I just wanted to share some GREAT news with you, your song just debuted on the charts top 20, not only are urban AC stations playing the record, but gospel stations and pop stations are playing it as well because of the Leandria Johnson and Lenny Kravitz feature.

Not only that, but they are also playing the full song at 6:36 which is pretty unheard of in today’s radio! So congratulations? Son I’m around if you need anything, call me even if it’s just to listen I’m here..

-Uncle Craig

This might be one of the hardest days of my life for cocktail of emotions :[

@1980sixx @LennyKravitz and @leandriaj thank you for showing up for me and holding my hand through these raw vulnerabilities in this song “I don’t think you ever loved me”..

Tyrese’s comments are filled with prayers and condolences from his celebrity friends and fans.

Actress Rosario Dawson wrote, “Sending you so much love. Thank you for sharing and being so vulnerable, raw and real. Praying for you and your family.”

Another person commented, “This man needs to take a break and really heal. No women, no movies, no work, just time for himself. Life comes at you fast and unfortunately, his pain is public. He needs a break to process it all.”

Tyrese may have lost his record deal, but at least he has another Fast & Furious film on the way.
