On the heels of being sentenced to 10 years in jail, Tory Lanez released a statement via Instagram to set the record straight on a few things.

The 31-year-old Canadian rapper/singer, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, began reaffirming his innocence.

“Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will,” he wrote.

For clarity, Tory Lanez made it clear that when he told Judge Herriford that he “took full responsibility for his actions” he was referring to “all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved…That’s it.”

He continued, “In no way, shape, or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of.”

Tory added, “I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do.”

Regardless of his 10-year sentence, Tory Lanez reassured his fans that he will not stop fighting and he will be victorious in the end.

“I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious,” he wrote.

He added, “Tough times don’t last, tough people do.”

In closing, Tory Lanez thanked his family, friends, and umbrellas for their support.
