Florida influencer Marlena Velez, known for her TikTok posts about home decor and fashion, has been arrested for the second time after allegedly stealing from Target.

On November 30, Cape Coral Police took Velez, 22, into custody at the same Target store where she was first arrested on November 21.

According to a police statement, surveillance footage from the latest incident shows Velez using the self-checkout to scan fake barcodes on items like a rattan Christmas tree, festive ribbon, and kids’ clothes.

The stolen goods were valued at $225.

Officers quickly identified Marlena Velez from her previous arrest, noting the distinctive wallpaper on her phone and the tattoos of the man accompanying her at the time.

Authorities also stated that Velez was arrested at her home and taken to Lee County Jail on charges of Petit Theft.

Marlena Velez, who has over 400,000 followers on TikTok, was released on a $500 bond on December 1.

Her next court date is set for December 10.

Despite her recent legal troubles, Velez has continued to promote her online presence.

In a September 2023 TikTok video, she spoke about her online success, claiming her earnings from a single post matched what her boyfriend makes in a month.

In the same video, she encouraged others to keep posting, no matter how small their audience might be.

After her first arrest, Marlena Velez was caught on security cameras at the jail saying, “Lesson learned,” a statement that may reflect her efforts to move past her recent legal issues.
