Regina King took to social media on Thursday (January 19) to honor her late son, Ian Alexander Jr., on what would have been his 27th birthday.
Sadly, in 2022, Ian took his own life two days after his 26th birthday.
In a post on her Instagram page, Regina shared a video of an orange lantern taking flight into the night sky.
The caption on the post read:
January 19th is Ian’s Worthday.
As we still process his physical absence, we celebrate his presence.
We are all in different places on the planet…so is Ian. His spirit is the thread that connects us.
Of course orange is your favorite color…Its the fire and the calm.
I see you in everything I breath.
My absolute favorite thing about myself is being ….Regina the mother of Ian the GodKing.
