Rapper Remy Ma‘s 23-year-old son, Jayson Scott, has been indicted on a seven-count indictment in connection to the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux in South Jamaica, Queens.
Scott and his alleged accomplice, Richard Swygert, were both arraigned on Tuesday for the crime that took place on June 7, 2021.
Jayson Scott Charges
Jayson Scott is facing a serious set of charges:
- Murder in the first degree
- Murder in the second degree
- Four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree
- Reckless endangerment in the first degree
Swygert, already in custody for another murder, was also charged for his role in Guillebeaux’s death.
The NYPD alleges that the fatal shooting followed a dispute. Swygert, 22, is also implicated in two other murders within an eight-month span, highlighting a disturbing pattern of violence.
Swygert’s Notorious Background
Richard Swygert’s criminal history is alarming. He is accused of:
- The January 1, 2021 murder of 20-year-old Robert Williams outside the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens.
- The August 12, 2021 slaying of 22-year-old Dominick Malivert at the K-Show Bar on 138th Street in Flushing.
With connections to three murders within eight months, Swygert faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Legal Proceedings
Both Scott and Swygert are being held without bail.
If convicted of the top count, Jayson Scott faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Their next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.

To be clear, Jayson Scott is innocent and Remy Ma is committed to proving his innocence and fully supporting her child during this time.
We stand by Jayson’s innocence and hope the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth.
