This is NOT a drill! Following the 33rd consecutive drawing, the Powerball lottery game is now at $1.4 billion after Wednesday night’s drawing didn’t produce a jackpot winner!
Lottery Executive Director Eric Hagler said in a press release:
This marks the first time in Powerball game history that back-to-back jackpot cycles have generated billion-dollar grand prizes.
The Powerball jackpot was previously won on July 19 for $1.08 billion. Since then, there have been 32 consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner.
Non-Jackpot Winners
While there wasn’t a jackpot winner from Wednesday night’s drawing – there were plenty of winners who secured a bag!
10 players won $1 million each by matching the first five numbers from Wednesday’s drawing.
Two of the million-dollar winners were located in California and will receive a prize of $1,220,123.
Second-prize tickets, purchased with the Power Play option for an extra dollar, garnered three $2 million winners – one in Kentucky, one in Pennsylvania, and another in Texas.
94 Powerball players who matched four white numbers and the Powerball won $50,000 each!
But, 13 of the winners chose the Power Play option and doubled their winnings to $100,000 each!
Last, but certainly not least, 14 winning tickets were sold in California where winners scooped $17,500.
When Is The Next Powerball Drawing?
The next Powerball drawing is set for Saturday, October 7, 2023.
The jackpot is $1.4 billion on an annuity basis, with a cash value of $868 million, according to lottery officials.
