Netflix just dropped the official trailer for “Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare,” and trust me, it’s one for the books.
Imagine spending nearly a decade in an online relationship, only to find out that the person you’ve fallen for isn’t who they claim to be.
That’s exactly what happened to Kirat Assi, who believed she’d found love with a man named Bobby through Facebook.
From 2009 onwards, their friendship blossomed into something more, but Bobby always had an excuse when it came to meeting in person.
As time passed, his emotional grip on Kirat tightened, turning her life upside down.
Now, this jaw-dropping story of deception is getting the Netflix treatment, courtesy of the producers behind “The Tinder Swindler” and “American Nightmare“.
The docuseries, premiering on October 16, dives deep into Kirat’s eight-year nightmare, featuring photos, screenshots, and exclusive interviews with those who witnessed the entire saga unfold in real time.
Originally told on the popular Tortoise podcast “Sweet Bobby“, the Netflix adaptation—directed by Lyttanya Shannon (Subnormal: A British Scandal) and executive produced by Rebecca North (American Nightmare)—brings Kirat’s shocking catfish experience to the screen, giving viewers an intimate look at her emotional rollercoaster.
If you’re into true crime and stories of twisted online romances, this one’s for you.

Don’t miss “Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare” on October 16, only on Netflix.
