N.O.R.E. is now apologizing for his controversial Kanye West interview on his “Drink Champs” podcast.
During the three-hour interview Kanye made false statements about the death of George Floyd, he alluded to Louis Vuitton being responsible for the death of designer Virgil Abloh, who passed away last year from cancer, and he continued his controversial remarks about the Jewish community.
While speaking to “The Breakfast Club,” N.O.R.E. said:
I support freedom of speech.
I support anybody not being censored.
But, I do not support anybody being hurt.
I did not realize that the George Floyd statements on my show were so hurtful….
N.O.R.E. went on to admit that Kanye told producers he would walk out of the interview and he didn’t want him to leave.
“I didn’t want a Birdman moment,” he confessed.
The “Drink Champs” host says he checked Kanye about his remarks later in the show but he was inebriated and people may have overlooked it.
“I apologize to the George Floyd family. I apologize to anybody that was hurt by Kanye West.”

While chatting with “Ebro in the Morning” on Hot 97, N.O.R.E. says he regrets allowing the interview to go down the way that it did.
He told Rosenberg and Laura Stylez:
I felt I could control the situation.
I felt I could control the interview and I’ve learned early on that I didn’t.
As a Black man, I feel like I’ve failed.
As a human, I feel like I’ve failed.
But, as a journalist, I succeeded…

Holly Robinson Peete took to social media to share her thoughts on the interview and Noreaga’s apology.
The actress wrote, “Just say you wanted him on for the ratings and stop this other BS. He showed you who he was too many times. This is embarrassing.. it be your own people??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️”
“FBI: Most Wanted” actor Edwin Hodge isn’t buying N.O.R.E.’s excuses.
He commented, “@therealnoreaga stepped on the throats of his people for views. Plain and simple. You knew what you were inviting on the show when you allowed that man to sit down and spew the lies he’s been spewing for years now. Moral integrity was gone for views. Welcome to the clown show!!”
An attorney for George Floyd’s family says they are considering filing a lawsuit against Kanye West for making false claims about George’s death.
