Michael Rainey Jr. & Chloe Bailey To Star In Fear Unlocked’s Horror Flick ‘Goons’

Michael Rainey Jr. and Chloe Bailey are set to star in the upcoming horror film Goons, currently filming in New Orleans.

Directed and co-written by Gerard McMurray, this chilling tale is set against the haunting backdrop of Louisiana’s cane fields and plantations, promising a uniquely eerie atmosphere.

McMurray teamed up with Hodge K. Johnson to craft the script, with production led by Tommy Oliver under Confluential Films.

The project marks the first film from Confluential’s new genre label, New Fear Unlocked Productions, which focuses on bold and culturally specific horror stories created by filmmakers of color.

The movie is also produced in partnership with McMurray’s Buppie Productions.

Oliver expressed his excitement about the film, highlighting the collaboration with McMurray and the talented team involved.

McMurray, who hails from New Orleans, shared his personal connection to the project, describing Goons as a “love letter” to his hometown and a testament to the power of Black storytelling.

With a strong cast and a visionary director at the helm, Goons is shaping up to be a standout entry in the horror genre.
