Matt Barnes made it known on ESPN’s “NBA Today” show that he wasn’t rocking with the way Patrick Beverly “disrespected” Chris Paul.
All he needed was the red clown nose because he was down there talking like a clown today.
CP is a legend in this game. You know, we were role players in this game.
So, have some respect for guys. He did play terrible.
He would be the first one to tell you.
But the shots that Bev took today were just out of pocket.
I know no one else is going to tell him that, so I’ma tell him that.
As reporters, a part of the media, we have a job to be critical, but I think there is a thin line between being critical and disrespecting.
I feel like what Pat Bev did today was completely disrespectful and out of the line.
And Pat Beverly’s talking like he’s that guy, your not that guy.
Plain and simple, Chris Paul played terrible this series and his numbers are still better than your career numbers have ever been.
Matt then ran off some of CP3s Hall of Fame-worthy stats.
He calls himself and Pat Bev role players who no one talks about after they retire, but he says CP3 will be talked about.
And he closes by saying Pat Bev needs to be checked because he was way out of pocket.
The gasp and sounds coming from Matt’s co-host Richard Jefferson during Matt’s check session were hilarious.
