Man Shot In Dispute Over Seating At Phipps Plaza Movie Theater

A man was shot at an Atlanta movie theater during a dispute over seating.

According to WSB-TV 2, the shooting occurred on Monday (December 20) at the AMC Theater at Phipps Plaza.

Police say the victim and the shooter got into an argument over seat assignments in the theater.

At some point during the verbal altercation, the suspect shot the man. 

The victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. 

Police are still searching for the suspect without a description of the shooter.

ATL Scoop, a very popular social media page with breaking news and the latest happenings around the city reported the shooting took place during a screening of the new Spider-Man film.

One woman who was inside the theater at the time of the shooting says that the scene was very chaotic following the gunshots. “Everyone starting dropping to the ground and running/crawling to the door, screaming.”
