As the masses continue to digest and react to the untimely passing of Kevin Samuels, I’m heartbroken to report his mother learned of his passing on social media.
The controversial YouTube personality and self-proclaimed relationship guru passed away on Thursday, May 5.
EMTs were called to Kevin’s apartment on Thursday morning.
Upon arrival, a woman told police that Kevin Samuels complained of chest pain and “fell on top of her” as she tried to help him.
The woman, who is a nurse, met Kevin the day before and spent the night with him.
She called 911 and asked them to contact the building’s front desk for a defibrillator, which is typically used in the event of cardiac arrest.
Firefighters found Kevin unresponsive on the floor of his apartment and performed CPR.
He was later transported to Piedmont Hospital.
Unconfirmed reports of Kevin’s passing began to spread like wildfire on social media.
The news garnered a bag of mixed reactions from disbelief to grief to those who were indifferent or even celebrated the passing of the wildly controversial man, who called unmarried women over the age of 35 “leftovers.”
Sadly, Kevin’s mother, Beverly Samuels-Burch, learned of her son’s passing on social media.
She told NBC News:
That was a terrible thing for social media to put that out. I didn’t even know.
I hadn’t even been notified.
All I’m doing is requesting that people pray for us.
Dennis Spurling, an attorney representing the family has already issued various warnings and statements regarding unconfirmed reports of Kevin’s cause of death.

We can view truth as hate but sometimes his bold medicine didn’t taste so sweet. And if you hated why tune in? Why call in? Because healing comes in many forms… his was some nasty ass tasting medicine.
There’s no right and wrong in this love sh*t, there’s just discovery.
