Kevin Hart has filed a lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K for extortion over a “false and defamatory” interview with his former assistant, Miesha Shakes.
Both women are named as defendants in the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to the complaint, Miesha worked for Kevin Hart from August 2017 to October 2020.
In her interview with Tasha K, Miesha claimed she walked in on Kevin having an affair in his office, while his wife, Eniko Hart, was pregnant with their second child together.
Miesha Shakes also claimed the comedian and actor had a gambling problem.
Kevin Hart’s former assistant also alleged he paid a man to take a DUI charge for him.
When Miesha was let go, she said she sent text messages to Eniko Hart informing her of Kevin’s alleged cheating.
In his lawsuit, Kevin Hart alleges someone “affiliated with Kebe” contacted one of his representatives and informed them of the interview that “would be damaging to Hart’s reputation.”
The individual said the interview would be posted unless Kevin paid a ransom of $250,000.
Kevin Hart contacted the police and issued a cease and desist order to Tasha K asking that she not publish the interview.
It cited the non-disclosure agreement between Kevin and Miesha Shakes that posting the interview “would constitute intentional interference and contractual relations.”
In addition to the NDA, Kevin Hart’s lawsuit claims the interview “included false and defamatory statements regarding Hart and certain legal disputes in which he had been involved.”
The lawsuit alleges Shakes made statements “that were false, including Hart recorded a video of a sexual encounter, and that he faced criminal charges regarding that supposed incident.”
Kevin Hart is suing Tasha K and Miesha Shakes for civil extortion, and invasion of privacy (public disclosure of private facts).
He is also suing Miesha for breach of contract and defamation, and he’s suing Tasha K for intentional interference with contractual relations.
“Kebe has an established history of posting defamatory and otherwise improper content regarding celebrities,” states Hart’s lawsuit.
Tasha K has not removed the interview or the promotional posts attached to it.
