John Boyega was finally able to get Jamie Foxx on the phone after his serious medical complication earlier this year.

At the Hollywood premiere of their forthcoming Netflix film, They Cloned Tyrone, John told People magazine, “He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, Bro.”

In a previous interview, John Boyega shared that he had been trying to call Jamie Foxx to check on him, but his calls went unanswered.

John was very careful when sharing an update on his Oscar-winning friend, whose medical condition has become one of the biggest mysteries in Hollywood.

He’s doing well. And then, you know, we [are] just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.

I gave him the well-wishes directly.

I gave him all the well-wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here.

So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.

Datari Turner, Jamie’s dear friend who co-produced the film with him, also gave a positive update.

He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good. [Our director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday.

John Boyega talked to him yesterday.

He’s in really, really good shape and spirits.

And he’ll be back on the screen.

He’ll be back to work very soon.

They Cloned Tyrone is set to premiere on Netflix on July 21.

The film’s stars, John Boyega, and Teyonah Parris, have been holding it down and promoting the film in Jamie’s absence.

Jamie Foxx has been recovering and healing since his medical complication in April.

I’m sending love and prayers for his speedy and full recovery.
