Gunplay’s wife, Vonshae Taylor-Morales, took to social media and spoke out after his arrest.

I previously reported the rapper and “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” alum put a gun to his wife’s chest and threatened to shoot her while she held their six-month-old daughter.

According to the statement released on Sunday, Vonshae confirmed she and her daughter are okay.

I just want everyone to know my daughter and I are safe. My daughter safety is my first priority.

Gunplay’s wife did confirm he is using drugs and drinking heavily again.

Unfortunately, Richard is back using and developed a very bad drinking problem.

I’ve tried everything in my power to help him and love him.

This demon he has to overcome on his own.

At this point, I believe it’s too late.

After detailing what went down on the night of the incident, Vonshae confirmed that has obtained a restraining order and she plans to file for divorce from Gunplay.

I have a restraining order, my daughter is in my custody and I am filing for divorce.

He will never get the chance to disrespect us again.

Vonshae noted, “I never planned on speaking on this but now that it is out. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you 🖤”

While most of the reactions to her post were positive and supportive, there were a few comments that called Vonshae out in regard to enabling her husband’s vices.

One person wrote:

Baby, you BEEN knew this about him but you chose to ignore the signs.

You’re calling him out on his demons but at the same time enabling him because you would drink with him.

And wasn’t you also defending him at the club when he pushed you out the way???

Gunplay has not spoken out since his arrest and he has deleted his social media accounts.

  1. I’m glad her and her daughter are safe. No matter how much we love someone, sometimes we just have to be done and walk away. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Prayers for her strength as she goes through this tough time.
