📰 The Shocking Incident At Cinema Ocho
On May 19, Fiamma Villaverde, 29, went to see Final Destination: Bloodlines at Cinema Ocho in La Plata, Argentina, alongside her 11-year-old daughter and a friend.
But just as the movie reached its suspenseful climax, things took a terrifying turn — in real life.
Villaverde told Infobae that she heard “a really loud noise” toward the end of the film.
“At first, we thought it was part of the movie because we were so involved,” she said.
“But then a huge piece fell on me.”
Thankfully, she was leaning slightly over the armrest, which may have saved her from a more serious injury.
She sustained bruises and had to get an X-ray following the incident.
🚑 Aftermath And Outrage
While waiting for an ambulance, Villaverde requested a refund.
According to her, the theater manager asked, “How do you want to fix this?” to which she responded she planned to file a formal complaint.
“Imagine if they hit my daughter in the head?” she added, still shaken by the experience.
The incident left her unable to work for several days, and she has since contacted a lawyer to explore her legal options.
To add insult to injury, Villaverde said she rarely goes to the movies due to anxiety in crowded spaces — but made an exception for her birthday.
“I haven’t been to the movies in years. I went because it was my birthday, and look what happened to me.”
As of May 25, Cinema Ocho has not publicly responded to the incident.
🎬 What To Know About Final Destination: Bloodlines
Final Destination: Bloodlines hit theaters on May 16, marking the sixth film in the long-running horror franchise.
The movie stars Brec Bassinger as Iris, a young woman who has a chilling premonition and saves diners from disaster at a high-rise restaurant.
But as always in the Final Destination universe, cheating death comes at a cost.
The film also made headlines for a record-breaking scene involving 71-year-old stuntwoman Yvette Ferguson — now officially the oldest person to be set on fire on camera.
Directed by Zach Lipovsky, Bloodlines is the first Final Destination movie since 2011 and serves up the same eerie thrills and deadly consequences fans expect.
🧠 Final Destination
It’s the kind of irony that could be written into the movie itself — a Final Destination fan getting injured in a freak accident during the film.
Fortunately, Villaverde is okay, but I’ve decided to wait until the film arrives on streaming services.
