Ryan Reynolds took to the streets of social media on Tuesday to give an update on the highly anticipated film, Deadpool 3.
Update From Ryan Reynolds
Sitting on a couch, and being as vulnerable as Ryan Reynolds is capable of being, he shared:
Hey everyone, we’re extremely sad to have missed D23, but we’ve been working very hard on the next ‘Deadpool’ film for a good long while now.
I’ve had to really search my soul on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special.
We need to stay true to the character, find new depth, motivation, meaning.
Every ‘Deadpool’ needs to stand out and stand apart.
It’s been an incredible challenge that has forced me to reach down deep inside.
And I…I have nothing. Yeah, just completely empty up here. And terrifying.
But we did have one idea…
Wolverine Is Back
In the video, Hugh Jackman casually walked past in the background and headed up the stairs.
Ryan Reynolds said, “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?”
Hugh responded, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.”
Then, Whitney Houston‘s classic rendition of “I Will Always Love You” began playing – subtitled as “I will always love Hugh” — and a “Coming Hughn” teaser.
Listen! I need everyone to act like Uncle Charles didn’t come get Wolverine and take him to the crossroads in Logan.
‘Deadpool 3’ Release Date
While I am thrilled to share the release date for Deadpool 3, I must forewarn you it’s gone be a while before we have to pull up to the theater.
The film is slated to open in theaters on September 6, 2024.
