Dr. Jackson Gates posts decapitated baby autopsy on Instagram

A Georgia couple is suing Dr. Jackson Gate, the pathologist they hired to conduct an independent autopsy after he posted photos and video of their decapitated baby on Instagram.

Baby Isaiah’s Tragic Death

In August, Jessica Ross and her boyfriend, Treveon Isaiah Taylor, Sr., filed a fraud and negligence lawsuit against Southern Regional Medical Center in Clayton County, the nurses, and Dr. Tracey St. Julian, who delivered their baby.

According to the lawsuit, Jessica Ross went into labor on July 9 and her doctor “attempted to deliver the baby vaginally using different methods including applying traction to the baby’s head.”

During the delivery, the baby, who was named after his father, “did not properly descend due to shoulder dystocia,” a condition when the baby’s shoulders became stuck in the vaginal canal.

The delivering physician “grossly” and “negligently applied excessive traction” on the head and neck of the baby.”

The lawsuit alleges the doctor “failed to do a Cesarean section in a timely and proper manner, resulting in Treveon Isaiah Taylor Jr.’s decapitation and death.”

Dr. Jackson Gates

The couple hired independent pathologist Dr. Jackson Gates to perform an independent autopsy on their baby.

They were distraught when they learned Gates posted the procedure on Instagram without their permission.

Gates did take the original post down, but two days later additional videos from the newborn’s autopsy were published on his Instagram page that included “the autopsy of the chest cavity of the child and the cranial cavity of the child,” attorney Cory Lynch said.

Dr. Jackson Gates told Channel 2 investigative reporter Ashli Lincoln that he publishes the images for educational purposes only.

His Instagram page has several photos from autopsies he’s conducted.

Gates said that he does not disclose the identity of the individuals posted.

Jessica Ross’ attorney Roderick Edmond said, “What community or country do we live in where somebody can form the words and say it’s OK to post photos of a decapitated baby?”

Sadly, right here in Georgia.

My heart breaks for Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor, Sr.

Not only did they lose their child, but EVERYONE they trusted throughout this nightmare has let them down.

I am curious to know who referred them to Dr. Jackson Gates.

Were they aware that he posts his autopsies on social media, but thought he would have discretion with their baby?
