Thomar Simmons has returned to social media to get a few things off of his chest after his ex-girlfriend Carlee Russell admitted that she lied about being kidnapped.
You may recall that when Carlee first returned home, Thomar, who is a first-generation University of Alabama at Birmingham graduate, took to social media to publicly thank the Lord for saving her life.
He briefly addressed the fact that some even accused him of having something to do with Carlee’s “abduction,” but he didn’t give up and “kept his faith.”
Thomar Simmons said that his girlfriend was unable to give “any updates or whereabouts on her kidnapper,” and he asked thanked those on social media who have been “understanding and respectful” of Carlee Russell’s situation.
After the Hoover Police Department held its first press conference and pulled CVS receipts on Carlee, Thomar deleted his Instagram post about her and turned off the ability to comment on his page.
On Monday, Carlee Russell issued a statement through her attorney and admitted that she lied about a toddler being on the side of the road and that she lied about being kidnapped.
Thomar Simmons has released a new statement via social media and says he and his family are disgusted by the outcome of Carlee’s case.
Myself and my family’s nature was to react in love, and genuine concern.
We are disgusted from the outcome of this entire situation.
He also stated that he feels “blindsided” by her actions.
I strongly feel exactly like you all, blindsided with Carlee’s actions.
Read his full statement below.
It’s still unclear exactly why Carlee Russell made the decision to fake her own abduction.
But, as a result of her actions, Carlee has lost her job, her man, Thomar Simmons, and the respect of her community.
Whether or not she will lose her freedom has yet to be determined.
