I’m sure this news doesn’t come as a shock to anyone, but Nelly and Ashanti are already married.
According to TMZ, the expectant couple quietly tied the knot on December 27, 2023.
The paperwork didn’t specify what city Ashanti and Nelly got married in, but it became official in St. Louis County.
The Grammy Award-winning singer officially announced her pregnancy and “engagement” to the “Country Grammar” rapper in April.
While chatting with “Entertainment Tonight,” Ashanti described Nelly’s proposal as “such a beautiful and intimate moment.”
The singer and actress said they were at home wearing their comfy clothes in bed when he popped the question.
“I cried, I gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever, I FaceTimed everyone I know,” Ashanti gushed.
When it comes to wedding plans, the “Baby” singer told ET she and Nelly are definitely ready to walk down the aisle, but she doesn’t want to get married while pregnant.
That’s because they’re already married so there’s no need to rush a wedding ceremony until after she gives birth.
