Ari Lennox took to social media over the weekend and opened up about her unpleasant experience of touring with Rod Wave as the opener on his Nostalgia Tour.
The 32-year-old “Pressure” singer said, “It was the worst tour of my life.”
In November, I reported Ari completely lost it when a concertgoer threw a water bottle at her while she was performing on stage.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, as well as debates over whether or not Ari Lennox should have even been placed on Rod Wave’s tour.
While speaking to her fans over the weekend, Ari said:
I was never comfortable. I just remember every show, just racing to get off stage, racing to get through my set.
And then, I found a spot where I was comfortable and I started trying to communicate with the audience and when I realized they were getting angry at me affirming them I was like…you’re getting angry that I’m affirming you?
This is not my crowd. It will never be.

Ari’s video has reignited conversations about why she was even placed on Rod Wave’s tour when they obviously have two different audiences.
One person wrote, “Ari Lennox is one of the worst mismanaged artist just like Normani. Her lack of success can be attributed solely to her team which I’m starting to question why even sign an artist like her if you couldn’t market her.”
“Ari Lennox should have NEVER been on that tour with Rod Wave. Too different artists with different energies and different fanbases. Ari should be on her own tour or touring with R&B/Neo soul artists,” someone else tweeted.

The truth of the matter is it’s not completely the record label’s fault that Ari Lennox ended up on Rod Wave’s tour.
During an interview with Angela Yee, the singer said she wanted to be a part of Rod’s tour and stopped short of saying she asked to be on the tour.
I asked to be on the tour. Well, Rod offered it to me, but I gladly accepted. This man gave me a job.
He gave me an opportunity to close out the year with a nice, beautiful employment.
So, I am not…I know what I’m doing!
