Jo Koy is getting flame-broiled in the streets of social media like he’s a beef patty at Burger King after hosting the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

One might say the 52-year-comedian and actor, who was announced as a last-minute host, was a crockpot of cringe.

As soon as he began his monologue it was clear Jo Koy was going to have an uphill battle all night as host.

He said:

The minute I signed the contract… I locked myself in a room and started binge-watching everything. While my family was clinking champagne glasses and ringing in the New Year, my family was watching Oppenheimer.

I loved Oppenheimer

I just got one complaint: [It] needed another hour, because I felt like it needed some more backstory.

My New Year’s resolution for 2024 is to finish Oppenheimer in 2025.

I love Oppenheimer — especially the first season.

Jo couldn’t help but admit, “That’s so stupid.”

Then he moved on to Barbenheimer.

Oppenheimer and Barbie are competing for cinematic box office achievement.

Oppenheimer is based on a 724-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and Barbie is based on a plastic doll with big boobies.

The key moment in Barbie is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breath, cellulite, and flat feet — or what casting directors call ‘character actor.’

When the joke didn’t slap the way he intended, Jo Koy blamed the lame jokes on the writers.

Some I wrote, some other people wrote. Yo, I got the gig ten days ago!

You want a perfect monologue? Shut up! You’re kidding me, right?

I wrote some of these, and they’re the ones you’re laughing at.

Things got awkward when Jo Koy cracked a joke about Taylor Swift, who was in attendance and a nominee.

The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL?” Koy said. “At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”

Emmy-winner Emma Stone (Poor Things) called Jo an “a–hole” for singling out Taylor.

To be fair, Jo Koy had a few moments that made me sniggle a bit.

But, Twitter was not here for Mojo Jo Jo – in this lifetime or the next!

He is currently trending for all of the wrong reasons.

Do you think Jo Koy bombed as host of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards or should he be extended grace for taking a last-minute gig?
