Apple TV+ has just dropped the trailer for an electrifying new four-part documentary series, “Cowboy Cartel.”
This gripping series delves into the remarkable journey of Scott Lawson, a rookie FBI agent who brought down one of Mexico’s most notorious cartels, Los Zetas.
The series will premiere globally on August 2, 2024.
“Cowboy Cartel” chronicles the jaw-dropping true story of Scott Lawson, an FBI agent fresh out of rural Tennessee.
Lawson’s investigation led to the capture of the Treviño brothers, the masterminds behind Los Zetas.
These ruthless cartel leaders wielded immense power, instigating terror to amass their fortune and influence.
Driven by a hunch, Lawson risked his life, tracing the cartel’s illicit activities through their brother’s racehorse transactions in the United States.
His daring infiltration into the cartel’s operations unearthed a vast international money laundering scheme.
The series boasts exclusive interviews with key players in the case, including FBI agent Scott Lawson, IRS agent Steve Pennington, and Irving police officers Steve Junker, Brian Schutt, and Kim Williams.
Viewers will also hear from Assistant United States Attorney Doug Gardner, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ginger Thompson, and Joe Tone, author of “Bones: Brothers, Horses, Cartels, and the Borderland Dream.”
