Anthony Johnson’s wife recently made a plea for people to stop saying their going to help out with funeral cost and put some actions behind their words.
The comedian and actor, best known as “Ezal” from the first Friday film, passed away earlier this month.
Unfortunately, AJ’s family have been struggling to come up with the money for a proper burial.
His wife, Lexis Jones Mason, said many people have been saying they would help, but they have not.
She started a GoFundMe with a goal of $20,000, but it has not met half the goal yet.
The donations are currently at $7580.
One would think that AJ had enough connections in the industry to easily reach the $20,000 goal, but the reality is that it has been a struggle and fake love is real.
Watch the video below of Anthony Johnson’s wife asking those that said they were going to help to step up.

UPDATE: We are happy to share the GoFundMe to cover the final arrangements of Anthony “AJ” Johnson has exceeded the fundraising goal!
At the time of this update, $23,120 has been raised, exceeding the $20,000 goal.
We’d also like to give a special shout out to comedian and actor Lil Rel Howery, who stepped up with a $4,000 donation.
Our sincerest prayers and condolences to AJ’s family and friends.
