HBO Max has handed out a Season 2 order to their “Sex and the City” sequel, “And Just Like That…”
The 10-episode series follows “Carrie” (Sarah Jessica Parker), “Miranda” (Cynthia Nixon), and “Charlotte” (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.
“And Just Like That…” follows the ladies as they tackle life and friendship in their 50s.
The series executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement:
I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters – played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we’re all thrilled. And Just like That… our Sex life is back.
While the series was well-received by SATC fans, the sequel did face some challenges.
There were the sexual assault allegations against Chris Noth, who thankfully was killed off in the premiere episode.
Then, there was the heartbreaking and shocking death of Willie Garson, who passed away on September 21 after battling pancreatic cancer.
He kept his illness private from everyone but Sarah Jessica Parker.
His character, Stanford Blatch, was written off in episode 4 as going off to Japan following his famous social media client who was going on tour.
As for Kim Cattrall…she still ain’t beat to reprise her role of PR maven Samantha Jones. So, I think it’s best to let it go like Elsa on this one.
Anywho, congrats to the cast and crew on another season at HBO Max.
Maybe I’ll tune in and see what all the fuss is about.
