🏀 Alijah Arenas’ Miraculous Progress After Car Crash
The Arenas family is breathing a sigh of relief. Alijah Arenas, the 18-year-old son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas and reality TV personality Laura Govan, is officially out of a medically induced coma following his serious Cybertruck crash in Los Angeles.
In their first public statement since the accident, the Arenas family shared that Alijah has “shown significant signs of progress within the last 24 hours,” according to ESPN.
After waking up, one of Alijah’s first questions was, “Did anyone get hurt?” — a clear sign of his awareness and compassion even in such a critical moment.
While Alijah remains intubated, his incredible will to survive has been described by his family as “nothing short of miraculous.”
🚑 The Crash And A Heroic Rescue
The frightening crash happened around 4:55 a.m. Thursday morning when Alijah’s Tesla Cybertruck lost control and crashed in Los Angeles.
A bystander who witnessed the crash rushed to help, fighting through thick smoke to pull Alijah from the burning vehicle.
“I tried to break the window, but it wouldn’t give,” the bystander said, according to ESPN.
“Then I saw one of the windows was cracked just enough, and we used everything we had to bend it and pull him out. The car was on fire. We just knew we had to get him out.”
The Arenas family expressed their deepest gratitude to the good Samaritan who helped save Alijah’s life, as well as to the exceptional medical team caring for him.
🙏🏾 ‘Not Out Of The Woods Yet’
Alijah’s aunt, Gloria Govan, took to her Instagram Story to share:
We’re not out of the woods yet… But grateful to be on the other side. 🙌🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
Awake but still recovering!
Keep your prayers coming 🙏🏾
