Kanye West wore a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt at his surprise Yeezy fashion show on Monday (October 3) in Paris, and Twitter went in on him.
The show was staged to showcase his Season 9 Collection.
At the beginning of the show, Kanye West gave a speech wearing the WLM t-shirt, a black T-shirt with the Pope’s face on the front, and “White Lives Matter” in big bold white letters on the back.
Some of the models in the show also wore WLM t-shirts.
Twitter did not like the optics of a Black man, whom many consider a musical genius with a lot of power and influence, wearing a shirt with that type of messaging on the back.
