Trick Daddy recently appeared on the “Big Facts” podcast and revealed why he stopped taking his Lupus medication.
Co-host of the podcast Baby Jade told Trick, whose real name is Maurice Young, that she has a lot of friends who are deeply affected by Lupus.
So, she was especially curious to know how long it’s been since he stopped taking medication and how he is managing his health.
Trick Daddy responded:
Okay so, I’m on another drug that’s controlling it now, right…
But, okay, initially they put me on antibiotic steroids.
I gained… 50 pounds in probably two, three weeks… face, everything was getting fat.
When I went back to the doctor, she was like, ‘You getting big!’.
She was like, ‘We running more test.’
I’m like well damn, so now I got three other pills, one for my kidney, one for my liver, one for my high blood pressure, I’m like…
‘Oh, because the medicine is giving you all these symptoms’… I’m like alright f**k it!
So, I got back on the cocaine. That’s the one I’m on now, right…
Nah, I’m bullsh***ing!…
But, what I use now is… I use cooking as a form of relaxation.
And what I also do is, I try to go out every night in case I’m not able to go out one night because when you become…
Lupus go… in remission a lot. So it might go in remission.
Like, your friend might feel fine for two or three years, and one day she might just be like, ‘I just don’t feel like it.’
And then one day, I can take a shot of liquor, and that one shot will have me feeling like I drunk a bottle. That’s when I know, sit down somewhere.
Your Lupus is acting.
So I have to know that. So in order to know what’s going on I try not to take pain pills so I need to know when something bad cause with Lupus you could be sleep and then you wake up and you feel like a b**ch done jumped on you and broke your arm or your shoulder or something.
You know what I’m saying?… So, I just… The main problem with Lupus, stress!
Can’t let nobody stress you. Can’t let nothing stress you.
Just pray bout it. When you pray bout it you know you ain’t suppose to worry when you pray.
Stress is the number one cause of murder, of death within anybody!
You can’t be… You have to be comfortable.

Lupus also called SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. Lupus can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. The condition is incurable.
