The Equalizer 3, starring Denzel Washington, is now playing in theaters and Robert McCall is protecting his peace by any means necessary.

The third and final installment of the Antoine Fuqua-directed franchise finds Robert McCall in Southern Italy where he is welcomed with open arms by the locals.

Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past while serving justice on behalf of the oppressed.

But, in Southern Italy, “Roberto” unexpectedly finds somewhere he can call home.

“Because of these people I’m beginning to understand real peace. And I’m starting to believe this is where I’m supposed to be.”

As he settles in, Robert quickly discovers his new friends are being controlled and terrorized by local crime bosses.

So, Robert McCall (with two Cs and two Ls) taps into his special set of skills to protect his peace and the friends he’s come to love as family.

In addition to Denzel Washington, who delivered a stellar performance, as usual, The Equalizer 3 also stars Dakota Fanning as Emma Collins.

Emma is a C.I.A. agent who unexpectedly becomes Robert McCall’s liaison in his efforts to take down the mafia.

It was truly a treat to see Dakota and Denzel reunited on the big screen nearly 20 years later after starring in the 2004 action/thriller, Man on Fire

The Equalizer 3 felt like more of a slow burn than the previous two installments.

This time around, the focus appeared to be on building a strong storyline around Robert McCall finding solace in Southern Italy and giving fans of the franchise the closure we deserve.

But, when it was time for Robert to get about that action – it was well worth the wait!

No one can clear a room full of vultures like Robert McCall and his kills were more gory and extra satisfying.

Kudos to Antoine Fuqua on another one (DJ Khaled voice).

It’s safe to say he’s got a three-peat with The Equalizer 3.

The film is now playing in theaters nationwide.
