Roseanne Barr - Lizzo

Roseanne Barr apparently thinks Lizzo owes her gratitude for “paving the way” for full-figured women who are comfy in their skin.

The 70-year-old controversial comedian and actor took to Quinta Brunson‘s internet and

shared poor quality photos of her Vanity Fair cover shoot from February 1994 along with the caption:

When is @lizzobeeating going to thank me for paving the way. An homage to Botero.

See her original post below.

Roseanne Barr’s fans took to her comment section to gas her up and cosign her sentiment of paving the way and opening doors for others.

One fan wrote, “You paved the way for SO MANY on so many levels! You don’t nearly get the credit you deserve!”

Then, there were those who opted to be honest and address her tomfoolery.

One commenter wrote:

You definitely helped the bigger girls however there were many before and will be many after you.

How about celebrating with Lizzo rather than bashing.

Women need to lift women up not down.

Not hating freaking love you just wish you went about this different.

Another person wrote, “Uh, Roseanne you had multiple plastic surgeries during your time on TV. Lizzo is about body positivity and loving the skin you’re in- without surgery.”

While Roseanne Barr is free to live in whatever delusional world she created for herself, I how this unnecessary post created a space for people to attack, belittle, and diminish Lizzo and her talents.

Rather than giving Roseanne gratitude, I hope Lizzo matches her energy.
