‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary Cosby Apologizes For ‘Mexican Thug’ Comment

Mary Cosby has taken to the streets of social media to apologize for her “Mexican thug” comment she made on a recent episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.”

The comment was made during a convo between Mary and Lisa Barlow.

Mary appeared to be emotional while discussing Jen Shah and said:

When I think about Jen I see a heartless…I see a thug.

Like…you know…those Mexican people that make all those drugs.

Mary Cosby posted an apology on her official Instagram page on Sunday that read:

I would like to take this opportunity to address a comment I made on the last episode of ‘RHOSLC.’

I used poor judgment in my choice of words. Please accept my apologies.

I was not trying to single out the Mexican culture. I am African American and I know racism first hand.

I’ve lived it daily my entire life.

It is important to me that you hear this apologize directly from me.

My comment was reckless…unintentional.

I am truly sorry!

One person responded to the apology, writing

As a Mexican woman, I respectfully decline your apology.

You made racist comments about black people last season and this season about Mexicans.

You are a racist hoarder who’s out of touch with reality.

You also DID pick your inheritance by marrying your grandfather.

Another person was more forgiving.

They commented

I don’t speak for every Mexican, but this Mexican appreciates the apology.

Just when I think I should check out “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City”…I’m given another reason to pass.
