(This post has been updated with a statement from Pras’ publicist.) Pras revealed in a recent interview that he learned about The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour featuring The Fugees via the media.

I ain’t even know this tour was happening until last week to be honest with you.

But I heard about it through the media.

I’m going, obviously, but I just heard about it last week.

You may recall that the Grammy Award-winning rapper, whose real name is Pras Michel, was convicted in April 2023 of conspiracy, concealment of material facts, making false entries in records, witness tampering, and serving as an unregistered agent of a foreign power.

He is currently facing a maximum of 20 years in prison.

So, I think Lauryn’s tour will be a great way to take his mind off of things – even if temporary.

Update: Pras’ publicist Erica Dumas sent us a statement saying he was aware of the tour.

Contrary to TMZ, Pras Michel was well aware of the upcoming Fugees reunion tour. He, Lauryn, and Wyclef have been in communication about this tour since early summer. As this is Ms. Hill’s tour, Pras respectfully deferred any public comment until her team was prepared to make the official announcement. He is thrilled to be reuniting with his Fugees partners and looks forward to celebrating their music with fans across the globe. Any reports claiming Pras was unaware of the tour are patently false.

As much as I love The Fugees – when it comes to touring their track record isn’t the best.

In 2018, Lauryn Hill announced her Miseducation 20th Anniversary Tour which resulted in multiple canceled dates due to “unforeseen production issues.”

Then, in January 2022, The Fugees created pure hysteria when they announced they would embark on a reunion tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Score

The group blamed the Covid pandemic for making “touring conditions difficult.”

“We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen,” the group wrote in a social media post.

The continued Covid pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe.

An idea sparked to honor and celebrate this 25th anniversary of ‘The Score’ but we see now it may not currently be our time for revisiting this past work.

We’re grateful for the special night we did get to share with some of you in New York, with that rare live moment.

If opportunity, public safety, and scheduling allow, we hope to be able to revisit this again sometime soon.

Thank you for all of your love and support throughout the years.

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour is slated to have 17 dates nationwide including all three members of The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras.

It will be interesting to see how this tour will pan out and if Pras, Wyclef, and Lauryn will see it through to the end.
