Days after the tragic shooting death of PnB Rock authorities are saying the rapper was targeted because of Instagram posts.
PnB Rock was shot and killed inside a Los Angeles Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles on Monday (September 12) afternoon.
The rapper was dining with his girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang, who posted a photo of their meal with a geotag on social media.
Around 1:30 p.m. PST, police received a call for a shooting victim.
Sources connected to the restaurant told TMZ that it appeared that PNB Rock was targeted by the shooter because no one else was shot or assaulted.
Following the shooting, the suspect snatched PNB’s jewelry and fled the scene.
The rapper was pronounced dead at 1:59 p.m.
Social Media Reacts
Social media debates were intense as some placed blame on the girlfriend, while others pointed out the only person responsible for PnB Rock’s death is the shooter.
Even Nicki Minaj took to social media to speak on the tragic incident.
She tweeted, “After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick. Jesus. #SIP #PnbRock”
LAPD Speaks On PnB Rock Shooting
Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said the gunman who killed PnB demanded jewelry and other valuables before getting into a struggle with the rapper and opening fire.
He also said the attack took place soon after the rapper’s location was made known in social media posts.
“He was with his family — with his girlfriend or some kind of friend of his — and as they’re there, enjoying a simple meal, he was brutally attacked by an individual who apparently came to the location after a social media posting,” Moore said.
The police chief also noted PnB’s girlfriend is not to be blamed.
