Baby, folks are BIG mad about Kendrick Lamar headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans instead of Lil Wayne.

On Sunday (September 8), the NFL and Apple Music announced that Kendrick would be headlining, and the streets of social media have been in shambles ever since.

Master P took to his Instagram page and appealed to the NFL, JAY-Z, and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell to include Lil Wayne in the celebration.

Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX… well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.

As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant, and he’s a New Orleans native.

Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here. @masterpmasterclass #Godisgood Change starts with us. @nfl @jayz @mayorcantrell

On Monday morning, Lil Boosie took to Twitter to sound off about the Super Bowl headliner, going so far as to call it a “smack in the face to every Hip Hop legend from Louisiana.”

ALL YALL ACTING LIKE YALL COOL WITH HOW THEY PLAYING IT FOR THE SUPERBOWL SMH THE MOST CULTURAL CITY N THE USA (NEW ORLEANS) IT’S A SMACK N THE FACE TO EVERY HIP HOP LEGEND FROM LOUISIANA ‼️ @MasterPMiller @BIRDMAN5STAR

But it was Nicki Minaj who really got the people going when she took to Twitter to get a few “tings” off her chest and seemingly took shots at JAY-Z, accusing him of letting his “ego” block Lil Wayne.

“Denying a young Black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake, & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!! Eminem stood firm on having 50 Cent come out. A white man. S**t sad. House N***ER TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty? Welp, then ni**az will keep son’ing you!!!!! #DTLR #GagCityDC LMFAOOOOOOOOOO GOODAZ FI DEL GAL U AH GOODAZ FI DEM.”

“And btw, you don’t know the half of what Lil Wayne has done for me & others. Wayne had Drake & me on his tour w/ no papers signed. He was on all of my mixtapes w/ no papers signed. This man has literally changed the FACE of hip hop. The hair too. IYKYK. He inspired so many to tat their faces & get locks. Inspired your faves to wanna be a great MC. He never was in this for the money. It’s always been for the love of music. #GagCityDC TONIGHT #DTLR”

At the end of the day, the day’s gotta end.

And while I understand the desire to have Lil Wayne perform during the Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans, it’s Kendrick’s turn.
